Monument Number 1387997

Hob Uid: 1387997
Location :
Northumberland
Allendale
Grid Ref : NY8360057100
Summary : At the West side of Housty Farm is a ruined bastle, still with a gable wall high enough to contain the ground floor doorway. This is unusual, since it has a flat stone head externaly, but a half-round head internally. A sheep-shelter is attached to the other gable. At the southern fringe of the site are ruins which may be a second bastle. An old kitchen range lies among the debris.
