Historic England Research Records

Monument Number 1387755

Hob Uid: 1387755
Location :
Northumberland
Bellingham
Grid Ref : NY8050085600
Summary : Possible bastle at Boweshill. Neither the farmhouse nor barn show any sign of having been a bastle, but large bastle-type stones and a slit vent are built into a field wall on the north side of the farm buildings. This suggests that the farm replaced a bastle, although the stones could have been brought from elsewhere.
