Summary : Remains of a blockhouse immediately west of Featherwood Farm. It is clearly of military construction and is thought to have served as an early blast shelter for the protection of the inhabitants during periods of live firing at the Redesdale Range. The reinforced concrete blockhouse is set into the narrow valley bottom of the upper Sills Burn, with its south west face largely buried in the bank. |

It is clearly of military construction and is thought to have served as an early blast shelter for the protection of the inhabitants during periods of live firing at the Redesdale Range. The reinforced concrete blockhouse is set into the narrow valley bottom of the upper Sills Burn, with its south west face largely buried in the bank.
