Summary : A telecommunications block at the former RAF Biggin Hill site, built in 1938. It is situated to the north of the officers' mess, to the east of the A233 (Main Road). An English Heritage report produced in May 2003 recommended the block for consideration for possible Listed Building status.
More information : An English Heritage report produced in May 2003 recommended that the telecommunications building at Biggin Hill be considered for possible Listed building Status, potentially at Grade II. The report describes the 1938 building as "a vital operational building on the airfield site. Telecommunications comprised a critical link in the complex infrastructure put in place by Fighter Command, under Sir Hugh Dowding, before 1940". (1)
