Location : Northumberland Greenhead, Thirlwall
|
Grid Ref : NY6590066000 |
Summary : The possible site of Roman turret 46A, part of the defences on Hadrian's Wall. There are no surface remains. The deduced position of the turret, based on the regular spacing between milecastles 46 and 47, is in the garden south-west of Holmhead and not under the house as thought by Birley, although the proximity to the river may preclude normal spacing. |
