More information : [NY 6986 6685] Turret [G.S.] (Site of) (1) Turret 43A (Cockmount Hill), located in 1912, was built on the Broad Wall foundation and embodied in the Narrow Wall which ran behind it. (2-3) The site is overlain by turf-covered spoil from the Wall, and no remains of the turret can be identified. (4)
There is no surface trace of the turret; there is much debris from the Roman wall, here reduced to a grass-grown bank, and the precise position of the turret cannot be verified though it must have been located in the general area NY 6985 6684. (5)

In the vicinity of the site of the turret air photographs show extensive disturbance with post medieval enclosures built against the wall (see NY 66 NE 347, UID1393063). It is not possible to detect the position of the turret. (7)
