The lodge was built into a largely early 17th century southern boundary wall of the Audley End Estate. The lodge was constructed in 1828, and is a single storey building with attic. The building was originally T shaped, but was extended to the east in the 20th century. The Icehouse Lodge was constructed of knapped flint, red and yellow bricks and a clay tiled roof. The casement windows are set beneath Tudor style square hood moulds. Both north and south gables are ornately shaped. Gabled dormer windows are located either side of three octagonal chimney shafts, which rise from the junction with the 20th century extension. The extension itself is of red brick, with a hipped roof and casement windows. (3) |
