Summary : House, rebuilt 1753 on datestone, Gothicised in the early 19th century. It is of brick, pebbledashed and colour-washed, with pantiled roofs and is L-shaped in plan. The house is of a singlestorey with attics and has a central two storey gabled porch. This is the first described of a series of small houses Gothicised or built in the Gothic style by the Sykes family of West Ella Hall in the early-mid 19th century.
