More information : Numerous Medieval earthworks within the precinct of Bolton Priory, centred at SE 0741 5409, are visible on air photographs. These featuers include boundary banks and ditches, terraced ground, pits and mounds, and a small area of Medieval earthwork ridge and furrow. Several of these features have previously been sketch plotted by the Dales NMP Project. A circular flat topped mound, 11.5m in diameter, (SE 0736 5409) may be interpreted as a dovecote, however further investigation would be required to confirm this. (1) |
