Summary :
The Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway was a joint venture to link the Spalding and Bourne Railway with the Midland Railway at Saxby, and opened in 1894. It was a major cross country route, avoiding Peterborough, but succumbed to rationalisation in 1959.
