Summary : A right angled ditch is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs. The ditch lies adjacent to the eastern side of the North Kite Early Bronze Age enclosure (SU 14 SW 52), and may be associated with it. The course of the ditch crosses the western side of a segmented barrow (SU 14 SW 456) and may be the ditch, containing Early Bronze Age pottery, that Greenfield claimed to have discovered during the excavation of the barrow. |

The ditch is 175m in overall length, and lies adjacent to the eastern side of the North Kite Early Bronze Age enclosure (SU 14 SW 52), and may be associated with it. The course of the ditch crosses the western side of a segmented barrow (SU 14 SW 456) and may be the ditch, containing Early Bronze Age pottery, that Greenfield claimed to have discovered during the excavation of the barrow. It has been mapped by both RCHME's Salisbury Plain Training Area NMP and EH's Stonehenge WHS Mapping Project. (1-3) |
