Summary : A Second World War Type 22 pillbox located near the northern edge of Boscombe Down airfield, overlooking the course of a military light railway. The pillbox was constructed in 1940-41, built of reinforced concrete and is hexagonal on plan. It formed part of the ground defences of RAF Boscombe Down. A field visit in 2000 found the structure extant, its condition was not recorded.
More information : SU 1814 4095. A twentieth century pillbox is visible on aerial photographs. The hexagonal concrete structure is located near the northern edge of Boscombe Down airfield, overlooking the course of a military light railway. (1)

This may be the pillbox recorded at SU 181 409 at RAF Boscombe Down on the Defence of Britain Database catalogue. The pillbox was still extant in 2000-2001. (2)
