| Summary : A Bronze Age bowl barrow, listed by Grinsell as Wilcot 5a. Part of the Gopher Wood Barrow Group (see SU 16 SW 17). Ordnance Survey field investigation in 1974 recorded it as a mound 0.6 metres high and 11 metres in diameter, with vestiges of a ditch surviving on the northwest side. |

Wilcot 5a. Small ditched bowl barrow. (1)
SU13966394. A bowl barrow 0.6m high and 11.0m overall diameter with vestiges of a ditch in the NW. the three confluent bowl barrows (SU 16 SW 175) overlie this barrow in the north. (2)
William Cunnington excavated 2 bowl barrows in this group circa 1800. It is not clear which. See SU 16 SW 17 for details. (3) |
