More information : A stone circle "in the SE corner of the parish of Crosby Ravensworth, ... on a SW slope ... at an elevation of about 1,000' above sea level". The stones, which have fallen, are generally not more than 2' 6" in length, unhewn and irregular. There appear to have been 3 concentric circles, the outer about 60' and the inner 30' in diameter. In the centre are some smaller stones, which appear to have been displaced at some time. A line of fallen stones, probably originally a double row of standing stones, stretches away from the outer circle in a NNE direction for about 112 yards and terminates in a large flat sandstone slab. There are also 2 small irregular groups of stones; one 10 yards E. of the circles and the other 9 yards to the SE. (No other information regarding siting. Nothing identifiable on RAF AP's dated 4 6 54). (1) Listed. Siting given as NY 629104. (Clare appears to suggest that sites NY 61 SW 22 and 26 are one and the same.) (2)
