Summary : Site of medieval hall house, fortified house and tower house, demolished in 1610 and replaced by the present hall house. Altered in the 17th and 18th centuries.
More information : (NY 62401707) Meaburn Hall (NR) (1) Main block probably rebuilt late 16th c, but may incorporate earlier walls. Alterations and additions 17th-19th c. Forecourt has a 17th c gateway. There are two 18th c summer-houses. (2) As described though not outstanding. See photograph. (3) Maulds Meaburn Hall, garden walls and gatepiers, and two summer houseson the bowling green, Grade 2*, (see list for details). (4) Built on the site of a Mediaeval fortified hall house with tower house. The south wing of the present house contains foundations of the old tower which was demolished in 1610.
