More information : [NT 89714559] West Newbiggin [T.I.] (1) West Newbiggin, Originally called Newbiggin, was the seat of the manor. A survey of 1561 mentions a tower there, in good repair, with a "Barmkin about it".(2-3) West Newbiggin, now a farm, is entirely 19th C. Neither the house nor its outbuildings incorporates any visible remains of the tower, and there are no apparent traces of the barmkin. (4)
