Summary : A circular enclosure at Markshall, possibly a henge, visible as cropmarks on air photographs. Located less than 1 kilometre southwest of the Arminghall Henge (TG 20 NW 153), it is visible as two concentric ditched circuits, close to the confluence of the Rivers Yare and Tas. The outer ditch circuit appears wider and more regular than the inner. A large D-shaped enclosure (TG 20 NW 158) lies immediately adjacent to the west, its flat side facing the possible henge. The circular enclosure has never been excavated and, although scheduled, is under cultivation. |
