WITHAM TEMPLARS PRECEPTORY

Witham Templars Preceptory (Essex) was founded between 1138-1148 as a grant to the Templars from King Stephen, his wife Matilda and their son, Eustace of Bologne. Before the start of the 13th century it had become administratively merged with the Templar's house at Cressing.
