COLCHESTER GREYFRIARS

Franciscan Friary founded by 1237. They acquired more land in 1307 when a new church was built, and again in 1338 when more domestic buildings were added. Dissolved in 1538. The site was in the North-East circuit of the city walls, immediately North of the east gate.
