MOUNTJOY PRIORY

A chapel of St Lawrence was founded in the reign of Richard I for 2-3 monks as a Benedictine cell of Wymondham Priory by William de Geyney, who conveyed it early in the reign of King John to the Augustinian Canons, becoming a priory. It was dissolved in 1529.
