Summary : Two bowl barrows situated on Blakeney Downs. The barrows are visible as earthern mounds, surrounded by hollows in the ground surface which mark the presence of quarry ditches, now largely infilled.
More information : TG 01864365. Tumulus found R R Clarke 1.9.34. (Ditched bowl barrow)
about 3' high; 46' diam. Ditch 10' wide on S and 8' wide on N. (1)

(TG 01924362) Tumulus found R R Clarke 1.9.34. Ditched Bowl Barrow,
about 4' high, 62' diam, ditch 7' wide. (2)

(TG 01864365) Tumulus (NR) (3)

TG 01864365. A truncated bowl barrow with a max. height of 1.3m;
there are suveyable traces of a slight ditch to the west only, with a
depth of 0.2m.

TG 01894364. A second truncated bowl barrow having a max. height of
1.5m; there are remains of a surrounding ditch, surveyable on the
north face of the barrow only,where it achieves a max depth of 0.2m.

Both barrows are now under rough pasture. Surveyed at 1/2500 on AM
and MSD. (4)

TG 01864365: Excavated 1936. Prehistoric sherds found on surface
following tree planting in 1937. (5)
