Site of a possible Roman settlement at Billingford represented by coins, pottery, a bronze brooch and a silver ring. Possible timber bridge.

A Romano-British settlement at TG 008201 (see plan) where much
Romano-British pottery has been found over an area of at least 40
acres. A Roman bronze brooch also found here. At TG 00702005 a rectangular projection may be an abutment for a timber bridge where the Roman road (RR38) crossed the River Wensum. (See also Roman bridge at TG 007195). (1-2)

Several Roman Coins found 1934/5 in Lodge Field (TG 00832038). (3)

The area indicated as RB Settlement site on the plan of Authy 1 is
arable land; there are no surface indications of former occupation.
The landowner was not interested in the site and could offer no
additional information.

There is a projection on the river bank at TG 00702005 as indicated
by P Wade-Martins, there does not seem to be anything significant
about it. (4)

Nothing visible on air photographs. (5)

TG 007203. A Roman silver ring was found at this location in or before 1985 by a metal detector. (6)
