More information : Part of the Late Bronze Age linear earthwork Grim's Ditch is visible as earthworks and cropmarks and has been mapped from aerial photographs. The ditch and bank follow a sinuous and broken course for 1250m on the OS quarter sheet SU 48 NW. It extends from SU 4490 8555 to SU 4380 8500.

A number of Post Medieval hollow ways, (many associated with clay pits or quarries marked on OS maps), cross the ditch at various places. Those features already marked on the OS antiquity model or those likely to be confused with prehistoric features were plotted. They cross the Ditch at SU 4454 8540 and SU 4484 8552 and a track apparently heading for the Ditch (but in fact heading for a quarry just to the north of the track) is centred at SU 4398 8541.

The whole route and the excavations carried out on the Grim's Ditch are described in Linear record 57 (UID 859144).
