MONUMENT NO. 1269012

DESCRIPTION + /

A bowl barrow on Hog Hill, one of a cluster of barrows located to the west and northwest of Maiden Castle (SY 68 NE 7 and associated records). In 1980, the Ordnance Survey described the barrow as an earthwork mound 23 metres in diameter and 0.3 metres high. Neither Grinsell nor the RCHME, in their barrow gazetteers compiled some decades earlier, mentioned this barrow. Scheduled. This barrow was originally described as part of SY 68 NE 12. That record should be consulted for additional sources and information.
