Monument Number 1244722

Hob Uid: 1244722
Location :
North Yorkshire
Harrogate
Ripon
Grid Ref : SE3150071200
Summary : Three West-East burials were excavated 80m North of Ripon cathedral in 1977 in the Deanery Gardens. There was no dating evidence, but the location between the Ladykirk and the cathedral suggests a date between 600-850. Indeed, two of the inhumations may be outliers of thre Ladykirk cemetery, and one may be an outlier of the cathedral cemetery. A plaque, perhaps the setting for a disc brooch, was found in demolition rubble on the site.
