More information : (NZ 58912454) Cliburn Hall (NAT) Cliburn Hall consists of a pele tower, probably built c 1387, with mid-16th C alterations and additions.On the S side is a small square tower, joined to the main building by an arch and having a parapet all round.This structure was added c 1450 and contains what was the well of the Hall. The battlement of the pele tower were removed and the tower gabled over c 1872. (2-3) Grade II* (4) The Hall has been completely modernised with pebble dashed walls, new windows and roof. The only exterior evidence of antiquity is the coat of arms, dated 1567, presevered in the SW wall. (5)
