More information : Twenty very small possible Prehistoric or Roman round barrows, seen as cropmarks, were mapped from good quality air photographs. The barrows occupy an area of flat land E of the River Thames (SU 6082 8536 - SU 6075 8569 - SU 6086 8591 - SU 6102 8605 - SU 6128 8553 - SU 6082 8536).
Each barrow is defined by a single circular ditch. Eight barrows are 7m in diameter (Morph Nos. TG.107.13.1-7, TG.107.13.20). Locations: SU 6082 8536; SU 6088 8543; SU 6089 8544; SU 6077 8550; SU 6077 8570; SU 6097 8587; SU 6116 8563; SU 6112 8564.
Seven barrows have diameters of 12m (Morph Nos. TG.107.13.12-18). Locations: SU 6086 8591; SU 6086 8583; SU 6075 8569; SU 6097 8573; SU 6105 8551; SU 6083 8582; SU 6105 8580.
Five barrows are 5m in diameter (Morph Nos. TG.107.13.8-11, TG.107.13.19). Locations: SU 6106 8603; SU 6113 8564; SU 6099 8572; SU 6128 8553; SU 6102 8605.
All of the barrows lie 200m-850m E of the River Thames in an area of flat land containing many other Prehistoric ritual or funerary monuments including larger round barrows, a Neolithic bank barrow and at least four mortuary enclosures.
Some of these barrows lie within the area originally described in SU 68 NW 40.
