St Crispins Church

Summary : The first church of St Crispin on this site was built in 1880, this church was destoyed by bombing in 1944 but the contemporary vicarage survived the war. The present church and hall were designed by Thomas Ford and built in 1958. The church consists of a chancel with organ chamber and choir stall, north chapel, square nave with north and south aisles and west porch. The building is of yellowish stock brick laid in Flemish bond with window panels and other details in reconstituted stone. The primary roof structure is of steel with softwood rafters carrying a desck covered with copper sheeting.
