Summary : 16th century (1578?) house with 18th century alterations, built on the site of a Benedictine grange of Wetheral Abbey, which was sold in 1483 AD.

Thrimby Grange is a two storey 16th century rubble walled building
with a slate roof. Above the doorway is a shield of arms dated
1578. There are 18th century and later additions on the east side.
Grade 2.

The name derives from the fact that there was a grange here
belonging to Wetheral Abbey, sold in 1483. (2-4)
