More information : (SO 88849155) Himley Hall (NAT) (1) Himley Hall, a seat of Lord Dudley Ward, lord of the manor. 'The old hall, which stood upon or near the site of the present house, was a curious old structure of brick and stone, with a large moat round, and a bridge across to the great gates at the entrance....". (2) SO 88829157. The present Himley Hall is a large 18th/19th c house, now used as the headquarters of the West Midland Division of the National Coal Board. No trace of the earlier house or of the moat remains. The name Himley Hall is retained. (3) No change since report of 7.7.58 except that the building is now occupied by Wolverhampton Polytechnic. (4)
