Summary : A tower is depicted at Haithwaite on the 1590 map of Cumbria, but as a house on the 1607 plot. The present Haithwaite framhouse retains evidence of a stonehouse or bastle which was surveyed in 1994.
More information : (Name centred NY 44457725) A map in the British Museum, dated December 1590, marks "Haythwaite" with a tower symbol. (1)

Listed with a plan of the present farmhouse. The stonehouse is distinnguished by its extra wall thickness. (2)
