More information : A 17th century terrace of three houses, altered in the late 18th century; of two storeys and six bays. A probable example of a terrace of bastle houses; two phases of 17th century masonry are visible. There is an inscription dated 1642 on a lintel. Listed Grade II. (1)
Wall is in effect an enclosed village, many of the houses showing traces of bastle-origins, all the houses but one forming a defensive perimeter wall to protect cattle, sheep and people within. (2) |
