GLOUCESTER ABBEY

St Peters Abbey founded in 681 AD possibly as a double monastery before becoming a minster circa 823-5. From 1022 to 1540 the abbey was a Benedictine Monastery, and after the Reformation became the Cathedral of Gloucester.
Dependencies: Bromfield, Cardigan (Wales), Ewenny (Wales), Ewyas Harold, Hereford, Kilpeck, Leonard Stanley, Llanbadrn-fawr, and St Mary Magdalene's Hospital, (Gloucester).
