BRIDGNORTH GREYFRIARS

Franciscan Friary founded some time between 1224 and 1244. Following the dissolution the site was used as a quarry for building stone, but the buildings were extent until the mid 19th century when the site was redeveloped for use as a carpet factory. Excavations have located the eastern area of the friary church and part of the dormitory range on the eastern side of the cloister.
