Monument Number 112738

Hob Uid: 112738
Location :
Shropshire
Neen Savage
Grid Ref : SO6700076000
Summary : The tenuous alleged site of Medieval castle at Ronhill, conjectured by an early 20th century historian; based perhaps on ambiguous documentary evidence. No further evidence is known and the site has not since been identified on the ground.
More information : A castle once stood on Ronhill (name SO 673762). It
was much smaller than the castle to the north-west of the church
(SO 67 NE 8). (Auchmuty's description of the latter suggests, as
does his description of Castle Toot (SO 67 NE 6) a Medieval origin.
He may well be inferring that Ronhill can be taken in the same
context). (1-2)

Nothing visible. (3)
