Summary : HMYCC Castington was completed in September 1986 and was ready for occupation in January 1987. Inmates are mostly housed in four wings which each consist of two two-storied spurs projecting from a block containing a dining room, association rooms and offices. In plan they are similar to houseblocks at Huntercombe and Deerbolt which were also completed in the mid 1980s. The wings are linked by corridors to a large complex containing administration and central facilities.
