Summary : Motte. An oval mound orientated east to west with the remains of a moat on the west is situated on gently sloping ground falling to the east. The mound rises 3.4 metres in the east and 2.9 metres from the bottom of the ditch in the west and has an overall distance of 18 metres along its longer axis. Scheduled.
More information : (SO 61485753) Mound (NR). (1) An oval mound with remains of a ditch, is probably a motte. The mound is about 26yds across the axis and rises about 12ft above the bottom of the ditch. Wacton, Castle mound. Scheduled. An oval mound orientated east-west with the remains of a moat on the west is situated on gently sloping ground falling to the east. The mound rises 3.4m in the east and 2.9m from the bottom of the ditch in the west and has an overall distance of 18.0m along its longer axis.
