Summary : Site of a probable saucer barrow, listed by Grinsell as Wilsford 1a and located in Winterbourne Stoke Clump. It was drawn on Colt Hoare's plan of the Winterbourne Stoke Group (SU 14 SW 35) as a saucer barrow, and excavated by him in the early 19th century. He found it "unproductive". Grinsell was unable to locate it and the grid reference cited is therefore an estimate based on Colt Hoare's map. |
