FLAXLEY ABBEY

DESCRIPTION + /

Cistercian abbey founded in 1151 and dissolved in 1536-37. Parts of the abbey still survive as extant buildings incoporated into a house which was altered post 1647. The site of the chapter house was found in 1788, the remaining layout identified from aerial photographs.
