| Summary : A farmhouse of two storeys and three bays with adjoining outbuildings; dated 1830 over the entrance. Adjoining farmyard buildings enclose the yard behind on three sides; one and two storeys built of stone from Hadrian's Wall. Listing excludes 20th century breeze block garage extensions. A n old pele or bastle at Willowford was pulled down in 1839. It seem sthat the earlier house stood on the same site as the present farmhouse. The pele/bastle does not appear on the survey of 1603. |
