Summary : A Bronze Age disc barrow, listed by Grinsell as Wilsford 72 and part of the barrow cemetery recorded as SU 13 NW 1. Excavated in the early 19th century by Colt Hoare, who found a primary cremation with a bronze awl, plus beads of amber, shale and faience. The barrow has been ploughed almost level and is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs. It is defined by a mound, which survives no more than 0.1m high, surrounded by a broad ditch with an outer bank and has an overall diameter of 57m. |

The central mound of Wilsford 72 survives as a slight, spread rise no more than 0.1m high; surveyed at 1:1000. (8)
