Summary : Site of a Bronze Age disc barrow, listed by Grinsell as Wilsford 66 and part of the barrow group recorded as SU 13 NW 1. According to Colt Hoare, it had been opened prior to his visit in the early 19th century. The barrow is visible on aerial photographs as a ring ditch, possibly marking a hollow in the centre, surrounded by a bank, another ring ditch and another bank resulting in a barrow with an overall diameter of 45.6m. It is possible the complex form of the barrow indicates that it was constructed in more than one phase. |
