More information : [SO 55507226]. MOAT (NR) (1) Two fragments of a homestead moat at 'The Bower'. (2) As described. Published 25" survey revised. (3) The remains of a homestead moat at "The Bower" measure overall about 70.0m square. They comprise the water-filled south arm and south-west corner and the now dry east and north arms. The farmhouse and farm buildings stand upon the line of the filled-in west arm. The moat sides are steep and the bottom is flat; there is a 12.0m wide causeway in the east side. The moat averages 10.0 metres in width and is from 2.5 to 3.5 metres in depth. Published 1:2500 AM survey (1969) correct. (4)
