More information : (SO 56382489) St Peter's Church (NAT) (SO 56362488) Cross (NR). (1) The Parish Church of St Peter, Peterstow, incorporates in its north wall part of the wall of an earlier building, which seems to have been shorter than the present, Norman nave. No features have survived in the pre-Conquest wall to give any indication of its date. Churchyard cross - much worn square base with part of shaft with stop chamfered angles, medieval. (2-3) Parish church as described. The earlier stretch of north wall differsfrom the remainder of the nave walling only in that the foundations consist of large upright flat stones c. 1.0m across. The Md churchyard cross-base is 0.7m square, 0.4m high, the shaft, 0.8m high, 0.2m square, with a modern capping stone. Published 1:2500survey correct. (4)
