More information : (SO 55862748) Caradoc (NR). (1) Caradoc, though much altered is still an interesting example of 16th and 17th c work. The middle part of the house on the N side is a timber-framed building of mid to late 16th c and of L-shaped plan, with the wings extending toward the E and N and occupying part of what is now the hall. C 1620-30 the existing W range was added and the two ranges built to the SE and E of the earlier building and forming with it a courtyard open on the N side. Grade 2*. (2-3) 'Caradoc', a substantial country house in excellent condition. Restoration of stonework has been minimal and is unobtrusive, and modern additions are few and have been tastefully blended in with the original fabric. An outstanding house. (4)
