STANTON DREW NORTH EAST CIRCLE

ALTERNATIVE NAME:  NORTH EAST CIRCLE
DESCRIPTION + /

A circle of standing stones, one of a group of such monuments at Stanton Drew. The circle is some 30 metres in diameter and contains 8 upright stones. Recent geophysical survey undertaken by English Heritage suggests that there may also have been an internal setting of stones. An avenue of standing stones leads away from the circle in an east-south-east direction, and may originally have joined up with the avenue leading from the the Great Circle, located to the south west.
