The motte at Minton is 18ft high with a level top 27ft in diameter. The surrounding sitch is 5ft deep on the north but less pronounced to the south. (2)

A small motte at the foot of the Long Mynd, overlooking the valley at Little Stretton. It has a base diameter of 24.0 to 26.0m, and a height of 4.7m. The flat summit is 10.0m across. There are remains of a ditch to SW and NE, 8.0m in width, 1.3m maximum depth. The site is under trees. Published 1:2500 survey revised. (4)

The earthwork remains of the small Medieval Motte were seen as a mound centred at SO 4315 9065 on the SE edge of the village of Minton. The mound measured c20-25m and was mapped from aerial photographs. (6) |
