Weston House Icehouse

Hob Uid: 1089071
Location :
Surrey
Guildford
Albury
Grid Ref : TQ0540047900
Summary : Icehouse in the garden of Weston House. Built of ironstone with vaulted brick roof and narrow entrance that can only be approached by ladder. A little below ground level there are indications that the entrance might once have been floored over. If this floor was covered over with earth to give a degree of insulation, this icehouse would have been completely invisible as it is not under the usual mound.
