More information : SU 08817129: ? Bowl barrow recorded for the first time in 1990 during RCHME survey of the earthworks on Windmill Hill. The survey had been requested by Alasdair Whittle of University College, Cardiff. The survey also formed part of an RCHME project to record the monuments of the Avebury World Heritage Area. The barrow is oval in plan with a maximum length of 22m. it has been reduced by ploughing to a height of 0.2m. Refer to the archive report for a full discussion of the surveyed earthworks. (1)
A ditch surrounding the round barrow, described by the previous authority, was visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs, with only slight traces of the inner mound visible. The ditch has a diameter of around 20m. (2)
