Summary : Cottage hospital built beween 1889-1890 to designs by Sidney G Goss. Present frontage is in Birkbeck Road, however the map shows the frontage in Granville Road. In 1894 a mortuary was added and in 1913 and 1938 wards were added.

Parch marks of the foundations of a building with substantial footings can be seen on aerial photographs taken in July 2010 at TQ 4654 7248. These may be related to the former cottage hospital mentioned by the previous authority. (2)
